What is the Science of Making "It" Stick?

Your company has decided to implement a new sales strategy, a new sales process, a new management training program.  Wonderful.  The issue is, how do you make it stick and what gets in the way?

In 2014, ATD said that organizations on average spent $1,208 per employee on training and development which is an increase of $13 more per employee and the number of learning hours used per employee increased 31.5 from 30.3. We can't afford to have implementation without execution, yet so little of what we learn "sticks".
